This project combined tuckpointing work with the installation of new front steps to restore both the structural condition and appearance of the building entrance. The improvements strengthened the masonry and provided a safer, more durable access area.
Maintaining brick masonry often requires restoring mortar joints and upgrading entrance structures that experience heavy daily use. In this project, work was carried out to repair deteriorated mortar joints through tuckpointing while also installing new front steps at the building entrance.
Tuckpointing involved removing weakened mortar from between the bricks and replacing it with fresh mortar to restore the stability of the masonry wall. Properly restored mortar joints help strengthen the wall structure and protect the brickwork from moisture infiltration and long-term deterioration.
At the same time, the entrance area was upgraded with the installation of new masonry front steps. The steps were constructed with careful alignment and a stable base to ensure safe access and long-term durability under regular use and exposure to outdoor conditions.
By combining tuckpointing with the installation of new steps, the project improved both the structural reliability of the brick masonry and the overall appearance of the building’s entrance area.
